This is a well-acted story about how an oil-rich tribe of North Americans were robbed by unscupulous white mem. Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons.
Based on a true story:
- The Conspiracy: Over 20 Osage members were murdered for their wealth, though the true number may be much higher.
- The Victims: Members of the Osage Nation were, at the time, the richest people per capita in the world due to oil under their land.
- Key Figures: Mollie Burkhart’s family was targeted, with her sisters and mother poisoned or shot.
- The Investigation: The case led to one of the first major FBI investigations, headed by Tom White.
- The Perpetrators: William K. Hale, a local cattleman, orchestrated the killings, involving his nephew, Ernest Burkhart (Mollie's husband).

| The Intern |
  |
Cute movie which is a slow start, about an overworked CEO at an internet start-up. Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway. |

| The Lives of Others 2006 |
  |
A life in the DDR, who's spying on who? The filming is dark, as it should be. An original German production. Power, sex and manipulation. How a people become and stay oppressed. Excellent acting, any number of well-known German actors. |
| Civil War 2024 |

Sadly, following the current state of the streets in the US, this flick does not look to be too far off the mark. A mad president for one thing. CGI reigns, but good acting helps. Phew! |
| A Real Pain |

A couple of jewish cousins take a heritage trip to Poland. So different, creepy when one of them is just OTT. Waiting for it all to go south. In my view manipulation has many forms. Nice Chopin in the background - fits in with the location. A brilliant script by Jesse Eisenberg who also plays one of the cousins.
Kieran Culkin does an excellent job of the arsehole.
That's two cases where i've seen him play an arsehole - i wonder what he's acrually like? |
| Message in a Bottle |
  |
A lady finds a message in a bottle and a cute story evolves. Paul Newman, Robin Wright Penn and Kevin Costner. A bit drawn out, but it has it's moments. Newman is superb, but then again, he always was. |
| About Time 2013 |
  |
A weird time-travel movie with some charm. In my current mood the world is seething with missed opportunities. Not a lot to be done about it. Oh, for the love of a good woman. Oh Yeah! Domhnall Gleeson and the lovely Rachel McAdams. |
| Their Finest (2016) |
  |
A feel good movie. Just the ticket for a cold January night. Bill Nighy is himself. Gemma Arterton is adorable. Sam Claflin is excellent. |
| Gladiator |
  |
A big production - Ridley Scott. Hardly a great script. Russel Crowe is over the top. Oliver Reed - is, well Oliver Reed. The devil is well done - Joaquin Phoenix, Richard Harris too. I think i've seen this before, which shows how memorable it is. |
| Pele |

A dramatisation of his life and successes..Predudice in how football was played, didn't know this. Nowadays the game of footie seems to me to be a contact sport, so what did style of play even mean. Far too much money in it now. |
