Title Rating Comments
Last of the Dogmen   Bad script, bad acting - in short one of the most pathetic movies ever made.. Very Missable
Get Low ½ Well-told story. Duvall and Murray are very good. Recommended.
Zodiac ½ Holy bing bang. California murderer. Recommended.
X-Men, First Class   Mutant and Proud! - Such crap! Missable
Win Win Silly US sport movie with a happy end, ah.
The Tree of Life Somewhat silly, doesn't really work. Missable
Unknown ½ Terrific thriller, great performances from Liam Neeson, Bruno Ganz and also Diane Kruger. Recommended.
Urgency Slightly interesting plot, poorly made.
Made in Dagenham ½ Just as I was leaving with the fruit he says "I believe all the workers of the world should unite". So I thought to myself "Well I can help you with that straight away mate". So I did. Recommended.
Ironclad Much blood and screaming.
Captain America - The First Avenger Silly. Love the lady agent though - Haily Atwell - especially that WWII era hairstyle.
Cyrus Not my cup of tea at all
Children of Men Excellent movie, even more dramatic the second time around. Highly Recommended.
Horrible Bosses   Tell me they did it for the money! Missable
Equilibrium   Well, um - no. Missable
The Godfather III Dangerous stuff opera.
The Godfather II Been a while - powerful
The Godfather I I remember seeing this when it first came out. The Mafia sure doesn't horse around.
The Source Code Interesting, but doesn't really suspend belief.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend   Well, um - no. Missable
Easy A The delightful Emma Stone (III) with some great dialog and a happy family of Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson. Features even the original villan. (Clockwork Orange, he seems to have had quite a life since then judging by the wear and tear on his features.)
Love and other Drugs Rather weak, though Anne Hatherway does her share.
Love Happens Aaron Eckhart was great in Erin Brockovich. This is a silly romcom - who said that? Oxymorphic or what? But does the Needle have a Wheedle?
Mad Max III Great! "Methane comes from pigshit". "Two men enter - one man leaves". Saw this when it first came out - what fun! Tina is wonderful. Mel (shit though he is) played has got the part down to a tee.
Mad Max II The Australian desert - reminds me a little of "Welcome to Woof Woof".
Mad Max I Weak
Burlesque   Oh dear, such drivel. But it does feature the lovely Stanley Tucci. (see Julie & Julia below).
Bridesmaids   One of the silliest film scripts I have subjected myself too. Missable
300 Interesting interpretation. Excellent graphics/scenery, a mystic quality, very appropriate.
You will meet a Tall Dark Stranger Not Woody's best, but an interesting idea. The last of his London films.
The Notebook Wonderful film, difficult subject. Four great actors. Recommended.
Eric and Ernie Well done, took me back to those christmas shows, and the 50's - when TV was new and the cars!
Cowboys and Aliens   Oh dear - they must have done this for the money.
Life as we Know It Such a silly romantic story.
Sexy Beast Rather a good ganster movie. Recommended.
Date Night Such a bad plot it almost becomes good. But in any case you HAVE to love Tina Fey.
Away from Her Very well done, not just the lovely Julie Christie (she has aged well, it has been a long time since "Far from the Madding Crowd") but also Gorden Pincent. Expected but surprising and disturbing and wonderful. Love the one you're with comes to mind. Recommended.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail How silly, it seems rather as I imagine a public school in the evenings, silly upper-class twaddle. But what do I know? Run away, quick, run away!
The Gift Cate Winslet in a moving performance, not that I believe much of the story for a second. Recommended.
Love in the Time of Cholera Very romantic, well done period film with several beautiful people. Recommended.
The Constant Gardener Sad, intricate film. Maybe its just Africa? Recommended.
The Good Shepherd Good, complex film with a surprising ending. Recommended.
Strictly Sexual Well, an interesting premise.... but not much more.
The Social Network Interesting, I wonder how much of it is real?
A Good Woman Well done, period film, enjoyable story of a woman who knows what she wants. Recommended.
The Kite Runner Didn't think I would like this, but I did, well done. Recommended.
The Black Swan OK, but not really credible.
Girl with a Pearl Earing OK, but not as good as the book - why am I surprised?
Midnight in Paris ½ How could one not like this movie? Owen Wilson is Woody, and of course the delicious Marion Cotillard. Highly Recommended.
The Bourne Ultimatum A well thought-out conclusion. Recommended.
The Bourne Supremacy Simply entertaining. Recommended.
The Bourne Identity A highly entertaining film, setup for the follow-ons. Like the main actor. Recommended.
The King's Speech Some wonderful performances. Recommended.
Flawless Some wonderful performances from Cain and the main female part. Recommended.
